Homeschool Spaces

A decade ago, not long before my husband and I made the decision to homeschool (and when I was somewhere in between “I will never homeschool!” and “Well, maybe we could do this”), I had a dream about a beautiful homeschool room.
In this dream, I was shopping for a new house, and I woke up after viewing one with what I thought of at the time as a perfect homeschool space. It was bright and airy. Shelves lined the walls, begging to be filled with books. Large and open, there was enough room for my two active kids, with space for the third (even more active) child to come.
I laughed about it the next morning because, well, I had already vowed never to move again with little kids, and homeschooling was not on the agenda either.
Fast forward a few months, and there I was, searching for a place to store a giant box of books and homeschool curriculum that was somewhere in Kentucky in the care of the United Parcel Service. Destination: my house, Ontario, Canada.
I just needed somewhere to put it.
What I wanted was a homeschool room. Tidy. Organized. Filled with books. Colourful.
What I got was a kitchen table. Chairs askew. Half empty mugs. Lounging pets. Kid crafts. Snack dishes. Random books and papers.
And it's perfect for our very real life! Enjoy these featured homeschool spaces from our own MCHA members!
